French Ligue 1
Date: Sunday, 3rd December 2017
Kick off at 16:00 UK/ 17:00 CET
Venue: Stade Michel d'Ornano (Caen).
One could argue that pound for pound Caen has been the best team in Ligue 1 compared to previous seasons. They come into their 16th game of the season in 6th position and just six points from a European place. Whilst recent form has been patchy where the club has won 1 game in their last 3, their other matches have been draws and they haven't lost a game since going down to Marseille 5-0 at the beginning of November.
At home Caen have picked up 16 of their 23 points and have the 4th best record in the league. They have lost just twice in 8 games and have gone their past 3 games at home unbeaten. They come into this match having drawn 0-0 away to Strasbourg in midweek.
Lyon were handed a huge shock as they lost to lowly Lille 2-1 at home in their last game and this has dealt a huge blow to their league aspirations. The loss was just their 2nd of the season and they now trail leaders PSG by 12 points. The club will hope this is just a blip because otherwise they have been very strong, scoring 38 goals, and are only second to PSG in most goals scored. This includes recently destroying both Nice and St Etienne 5-0 each.
Lyon have the 3rd best away record in the league and with 20 goals they have scored the most on the road. They come into this game with 3 straight wins away also.
